COMPLETED DECISION AND EXAMPLE YouTube Short or longer video for a business? The example below is hypothetical. Nudo Verde is a fictional flower shop; it does not represent a real account, include measured results, or prove that the format will attract customers. COMPLETED CASE Business: Nudo Verde, a fictional flower shop. Audience question: what does the bouquet look like when the shop wraps it to take home? Decision: a Short can work if the shop can show its actual wrapping process from start to finish. Why: one visible action answers the question. The clip does not need to compare several products or explain delivery conditions. HYPOTHETICAL SCRIPT Working duration: about 20 to 25 seconds, depending on how long the real action takes. This is not an ideal length or a performance promise. 00–03 | Show the finished bouquet on the counter. Voice: “Here’s how we wrap this bouquet to take home.” On-screen text: “How we prepare it”. Image: start with the full bouquet and hold long enough to show its shape before moving closer. 03–14 | The florist gathers the paper around the stems and closes the wrap with a ribbon. Voice: “We gather the paper around the stems and close it with a ribbon.” Image and sound: close shot of the hands; keep the sound of the paper if it is clear. The voice describes only what is visible. 14–21 | Turn the bouquet slowly to show its front and back. Voice: “That’s how it looks from both sides.” Image: hold the shot through the full turn; do not cover the bouquet with text. 21–25 | Leave the bouquet beside a card with the shop’s name. Optional end text: “Ask about options and availability.” Use it only if the shop takes inquiries and can respond. Check before filming: the process must match the flower shop’s actual work; the whole bouquet should be visible; the words must match what viewers see. If part of the wrap needs more explanation to make sense, change the shot or plan a longer explanation. AN ALTERNATIVE THAT DESERVES A LONGER VIDEO Question: how do you choose arrangements for an event with several tables? Why it needs more context: the business may need to compare sizes, style, quantity, budget, and preparation or delivery conditions. A brief bouquet demonstration cannot answer all those decisions. What to develop: show two or more real options; explain what changes between them; say what information the shop needs before making a recommendation; separate any condition that depends on availability. If you do not have examples or information to compare, do not invent options to fill the video. First decide which customer choice you can answer with real information. READING THE RESULTS AFTER PUBLICATION Public Shorts views: since March 31, 2025, they count starts and replays with no minimum watch time. They are not unique people or a count of viewers who kept watching. Engaged views: YouTube keeps the previous Shorts metric in Analytics to show how many viewers chose to continue. Use it to examine that signal against other Shorts. All formats: since August 24, 2026, YouTube has counted views when playback starts across all formats, including Shorts, long-form videos, and live streams. Business action: record an inquiry, catalog click, or order separately, with the destination and period defined before publishing. None of these view counts proves that it caused the action.
