Create a TikTok Ads Instant Form

By HeyMark · Updated

If you are preparing to collect leads and want the form ready before setting up ads, you can create it in TikTok Ads Manager without starting a campaign. You can prepare the questions, review privacy details, and decide whether to save a draft or complete the form. TikTok documents both ways into the editor and what changes when you complete a form.

Before you open the editor

Have your questions, company name, and a public URL for your privacy policy ready. TikTok also asks you to review its Lead Ads Terms and Advertising Policies.

Decide what information you need and why. For example, the fictional Bruma Studio, a ceramics workshop, wants to reply to shops interested in wholesale orders. It could ask for a name, email address, and a choice of shop type. This example helps you plan the form; it is not a real business or an official template.

Open the editor without creating a campaign

  1. Sign in to TikTok Ads Manager and open Tools.
  2. Select Instant Page.
  3. Click Create, then choose the Instant Form tab.

This route opens the editor directly. TikTok also offers an editor route during a Lead Generation campaign, but you do not need to start there when you are preparing only the form.

Choose a form type

Select a template and click Confirm. You can start with a simple, rich-content, or lead-qualification template, generate a form with AI, or create a blank form. A card layout puts each question on its own screen.

Set the form language and color scheme from the menus at the top. Then open Content and complete the modules required by your template:

  • Questions are required. You can ask for personal details or add questions about your business or product.
  • Privacy is required. Enter your company name and the URL of its privacy policy.
  • Introduction, a banner, and custom components depend on the format and may be optional.
  • Welcome Page is required if you use Card layout. Add the background image, title, and description for its first page.
  • Final Page is required. Add a message that tells people what happens after they submit. You can also add a button to your website or an app install page.

A Form Card, which lets people respond from the video, is different from Card layout, which shows one question per screen. If you use a Form Card, check its question requirement: it must have three or fewer personal-information questions using name, email, or phone, or begin with a custom multiple-choice question. A custom disclaimer makes the Form Card format unavailable. TikTok’s help page lists requirements by component and template.

Set the form type and review it

In Settings, choose a form type. More Volume is selected by default and does not add a review screen. Higher Intent adds a review screen and CAPTCHA. TikTok says this option is unavailable for the Form Card format.

You can also customize field names for downloaded lead files or your CRM and add tracking parameters. These names and parameters help organize data; they are not visible to people filling out the form.

Before completing the form, review it from a respondent’s point of view: ask only for the information you need, check the company name and privacy link, and make the final message clear. TikTok says incomplete required sections show a red exclamation mark.

Save a draft or complete the form

  • Click Save if you need to finish later. TikTok keeps it as a draft.
  • Click Complete when your review is done. This publishes the form, but it does not create or launch a campaign.

Choose carefully: TikTok says a completed form cannot be edited or deleted. If you need to change it later, you can copy it from Instant Page, update the copy, and save it as a new form. Do not click Complete just to test a provisional version.

Check where to continue

After completing the required fields, confirm that the editor no longer flags incomplete sections. You can return to Instant Page to locate the form and continue with a campaign when you are ready. TikTok’s documentation confirms that existing forms can be copied from that page; find the version you just prepared so you attach the right one to your ad.

Creating an Instant Form in Ads Manager covers the ad workflow. If you want to attach a form to an organic Business Account post, TikTok documents a separate route through Leads Center.

If you already connected this form to a webhook and contacts are missing at the destination, check why your TikTok webhook is not receiving leads.
