How to bring a date into your calendar

To prepare the post with Mark, you need an account, a selected brand and access to chat through your plan or trial. You can browse and save this guide’s dates before creating an account.

  1. Choose a date for your brand

Choose a month and year from the month name, or use the arrows, and select a marked day; you can click anywhere in its cell. If it has several events, choose the one that interests you. Read its context and idea, and consult the reference case where available: you should be able to explain what your brand can contribute. We choose Halloween in the demo.

Change months with the arrows and open Halloween to read its context and idea. This is the real calendar in this guide.
  2. Adjust the brief

Select Plan this day with Mark. Add your goal, audience, format and available resources; keep the date and review request. The counter helps you stay within the 1,000 characters you can take directly to Mark.

We open the editor and adjust the brief before taking it to Mark. These edits happen in the guide; the message has not been sent.
  3. Open HeyMark and prepare the idea with Mark

Select Open HeyMark. Sign in if needed and check the selected brand in the sidebar. Content opens in the date’s month and Mark displays your brief, unsent. Review it and select Send when you want to request a proposal. You do not need to copy or paste the text.

Demo account: October 2026 opens with the brief already in Mark. The recording stops before sending the message.
The access walkthrough used in our HeyMark guides: landing, welcome and sign-in form. The demo does not enter credentials.
Before scheduling

Review Mark’s proposal: copy, assets, date, time and destination accounts. Check that the idea fits your brand and approve the final version inside HeyMark. These demos show selection, editing and opening Mark with the brief ready; they do not show a response from Mark or a scheduled publication.

What is a marketing calendar?

A marketing calendar organizes the dates and activities a brand prepares throughout the year. This guide brings together international awareness days, celebrations and commercial occasions to help you prepare social media content.

Commemorative dates mark the anniversary of significant events. The calendar helps you find these occasions; choose them according to your audience’s interests and what your brand can contribute.

Which dates fit your brand

When choosing important dates for your brand, consider:

  • Your audience: whether they celebrate the occasion or care about its theme. Check the countries and customs of the people you want to reach.
  • Your contribution: what you can share from experience, such as a demonstration, a useful recommendation or a story of your own.
  • Your resources: whether you have the time, materials and people to prepare the piece before the date.

Choose occasions where you can explain that contribution. Your social media calendar can also include answers to customers, demonstrations and your own updates throughout the rest of the month.

Select the month name to jump to another month and year, or use the arrows. You can view them in the calendar or as a list. “Choose with my brand” prepares a message asking Mark to review these dates against your brand profile and posts inside HeyMark. You need an account, a selected brand and access to Mark chat. This public guide does not connect to your social accounts or read your data.

From a marketing calendar to a content calendar

Are marketing, content and editorial calendars the same thing?

People use these names with different scopes. Here, the marketing calendar brings together occasions to plan around. In your content calendar, you decide which piece to publish, on which channel, when and who is responsible. An editorial calendar can organize that same planning by topic, campaign or publication. What matters is that your team knows which decision belongs in each field.

Can a community manager or agency use this calendar?

You can use this selection as a reference for several brands and keep a separate content plan for each client. Audiences, local dates, tone, materials and approvals can differ. The guide to managing multiple brands on social media explains what to keep separate.

How do I build a monthly social media content calendar?

  1. Define the month’s goal and audience. For example, explain how to use a product before inviting people to buy it.
  2. Mark relevant dates. Combine the occasions you choose from this guide with your launches, activities and business updates. Confirm dates, availability and terms.
  3. Turn each idea into a piece. Record its date, channel, format, message, materials, owner and review. Keep unresolved information visible.
  4. Check each week’s workload. Spread the pieces according to what the team can produce and approve, and leave room to respond to the community.

You can start with the content calendar template for Excel and Google Sheets. If you use AI to prepare the plan, the AI content calendar brief develops the context and constraints the proposal needs.

Example: a sequence of content around one occasion

A fictional pizzeria wants to show a recipe to share on Valentine’s Day in 2027. It has footage available and needs to confirm orders. This sequence illustrates how one occasion can lead to pieces with different purposes; the number reflects the resources in the example.

Fictional content calendar example for a pizzeria
DatePiece and purposeWhat needs review
12 February 2027A preparation video explaining the recipe.Approved footage and order terms.
14 February 2027A Story showing the finished preparation and confirmed information for that day.Hours, availability and where enquiries should go.
15 February 2027An answer to a question received about storing the dough. An actual question and advice checked by the pizzeria.

Swipe the table to see all columns.

To develop a piece in more detail, the social media content brief includes an example and fields for materials, review and approval.

Before producing your posts

How far ahead should I prepare for an occasion?

Work backward from publication day: when you need to confirm facts or offers, gather materials, produce the piece and get approval. An available photograph and a shoot involving several people need different amounts of time. Assign an owner and deadline to each unresolved task before committing to publication.

Which format should I use on Instagram, TikTok or LinkedIn?

Choose according to what you need to show and the material you have. A demonstration can become a video; a step-by-step explanation can become a carousel; a short update can work as a Story where that format is available. Adapt the copy and call to action for each channel, and check its requirements before production.

How many posts should I plan, and when should I publish them?

Estimate how many pieces you can produce, adapt and review each week. The social media posting frequency guide shows how to calculate that capacity. For timing, review your own results by channel; if you use TikTok, follow the method for finding your best posting time.

What should I publish if an occasion does not fit, or concerns a sensitive topic?

You can answer a customer’s question or develop one of your content pillars. For sensitive occasions, check the commemoration’s purpose and sources. For example, the WHO’s World Mental Health Day 2026 campaign focuses on the participation of people with lived experience. An informative contribution needs that context and a defensible connection to your brand.

How do I assess whether an occasion’s content worked?

Decide beforehand what you want to observe: questions received, visits to a destination, enquiries or attributable sales where measurement supports that link. Then compare equivalent pieces and periods. The social media KPIs by goal guide helps you choose a measure and understand its limits; an isolated result leaves questions for the next test.

Saving dates and preparing your own calendar

Can I save and share a date? Does it go into Google Calendar?

Bookmark the dates you want to revisit. They remain marked in this browser; they do not sync with your HeyMark calendar. To share a date, copy the URL after opening it. This guide does not offer an ICS export or Google Calendar sync; add your chosen dates to the calendar you use to organize your work.

Is there a content calendar template for Excel or Google Sheets?

Yes. The social media content calendar template is an Excel file you can import into Google Sheets. Use it to turn selected dates into posts with a channel, format, status and owner. That page contains the download and instructions for building your content plan.

Can I plan my calendar with AI and take a date to Mark?

This guide’s walkthrough lets you choose a date, edit the brief and open HeyMark with the message ready to review. You decide when to send it to Mark. To plan the whole month, prepare goals, materials and constraints as explained in the AI content calendar guide. Each piece needs review and approval before scheduling.

About this edition

This selection covers October 13, 2026 to December 31, 2027. Use the selector to browse all twelve months of 2027 and open each entry for its context, idea and source.

Does it work for Chile, Mexico, Spain or other countries?

Global dates can help you start researching, but a local celebration needs checking in its country. This selection identifies events in Chile and the U.S.; it does not list every observance or public holiday in Mexico, Spain or other markets. Check the country and source in each entry before adding it to your calendar.

Are all the dates official? How do I check the 2027 dates?

The source depends on the occasion: international bodies, organizers or local institutions. UNESCO publishes its list of international days, but the calendar also includes celebrations and commercial occasions with other origins. A commemorative date does not necessarily mean a public holiday.

For a movable date, verify the annual rule or the announcement for that edition. If a commercial event has no announced date, leave it pending and check with the organizer. For example, the Santiago Chamber of Commerce explains how it announces its Cyber campaign details. In this selection, Black Friday and Cyber Monday follow the U.S. calendar; Santiago Chamber of Commerce events are confirmed separately. Check the year’s theme and materials before citing them too.

Where a relevant case is available, we include the reference and explain how it relates. Some campaigns concern the same occasion in another year; others cover a related topic. When public data is available, we link who reported it and clarify whether it measures a campaign, a programme or a recognition. Results help you study a case and do not guarantee your content’s performance. The calendar date sources were reviewed on October 14, 2026. Content ideas are HeyMark editorial recommendations.
